Story of my Life

My family is an old, tattered book.
Worn, like a book that has been read over and over again.
My dad is the binding, the thing that holds us all together.
My mom is the first pages. She is the introduction, she knows
how things are to be done, and how things happen.
My brother is the page numbers. At times seemingly
insignificant, but not complete without him.
I am the torn out page, barely hanging in, standing out from the
rest of my family.

"If I Die Young" The Band Perry

Lyrics:
If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

Uh oh, uh oh

Lord make me a rainbow, I'll shine down on my mother
She'll know I'm safe with you when she stands under my colors, oh and
Life ain't always what you think it ought to be, no
Ain't even gray, but she buries her baby

The sharp knife of a short life, well
I've had, just enough time

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

The sharp knife of a short life, well
I've had, just enough time

And I'll be wearing white, when I come into your kingdom
I'm as green as the ring on my little, cold finger, I've
Never known the lovin' of a man
But it sure felt nice when he was holding my hand, there's a
Boy here in town says he'll, love my forever
Who would have thought forever could be severed by
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I've had, just enough time

So put on your best boys and I'll wear my pearls
What I never did is done

A penny for my thoughts, oh no, I'll sell them for a dollar
They're worth so much more after I'm a goner
And maybe then you'll hear the words I been singin'
Funny when your dead how people start listenin'

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

Uh oh (uh, oh)
The ballad of a dove (uh, oh)
Go with peace and love
Gather up your tears, keep 'em in your pocket
Save them for a time when your really gonna need them, oh

The sharp knife of a short life, well
I've had, just enough time

So put on your best boys and I'll wear my pearls

General idea/story inference:
I think this song is about a girl wanting to commit suicide and telling her mom or family not to be sad, and let her go just the way she wants. Also it seems to be telling the story of how she wants to die, and what she wants to happen after she is gone. She wants it to be more of a happy thing than a sad thing, she doesn't feel like her death would be something to cry about.

Quote inferences:
1. "The sharp knife of a short life, well I've had, just enough time" This part is meaning that she has had enough time of this life, and sees no more purpose for her, she doesn't want anything to do with it anymore. "well I've had, just enough time" could also be talking about how she has had time to think the suicide over.

2. "A penny for my thoughts, oh no, I'll sell them for a dollar, They're worth so much more after I'm a goner" & "Funny when your dead how people start listenin" She is saying that nobody actually listened to her, but now she thinks people will start to listen because they will never see her again, and now are wanting to know what she had to say.

3. "Life ain't always what you think it ought to be, no, Ain't even grey, but she buries her baby" I took this as she still cares for her family, but life is just unfair, and its just too hard for her to face this life anymore.

4. "So put on your best boys and I'll wear my pearls" "what I never did is done" This seems like her way of saying I told you and you didn't listen, so you will have to live without me. The last part, "what I never did is done" I think thats when she does it.

5. "Gather up your tears, keep 'em in your pocket, Save them for a time when your really gonna need them, oh" This could mean that she wasn't worth crying about before her death, so there really would be absolutely no reason the do so now.

It is My Name

My name is important to me. It represents me, what I believe, and who I am. Your name can say a lot about you.  People may hear about your name and make judgments about the kind of person you are before they even meet you. Your name can either give you a good or bad reputation. My name has a reputation.  It is seen by others as ‘the girl who runs’ or Lindsey Dunkley’s niece, even when I haven’t mentioned that I run or who I am related to.  It is expected that I will run as well as my aunt simply because of my name and the things associated with it.
Your name can say a lot about what you value as well.  Things that make me happy are things that are creative, or require some skill or endurance. I like to go running, as well as drawing and snowboarding. Things that I don’t like are when people make accusations about others before they meet them, or even get to know them. Other things that can make me mad are people who don’t stop to think before they talk. It also makes me mad when people talk about themselves all the time and don’t have the courtesy to ask me how I am doing.  When I hear my name, these are the things I think of.  My likes, dislikes, talents, and interests are what people who really know me think of when they hear the name “Morgan Warner”.

The Crucible Cast List

Reverend Samuel Parris: Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey would fit the part of Reverend Samuel Parris because in the Crucible, Reverend Samuel Parris is very over-dramatic. In most of the shows I have seen with Jim Carrey, he is also very over-dramatic. In the book, Reverend Samuel Parris is described as having a big ego, or conceited. Jim Carrey has also displayed those attributes in many of the movies he has played in.

Tituba: Cisely Tyson

I chose Cisely Tyson for the part of Tituba. I chose her because in the story, The Crucible, Tituba is described as a black slave from Barbados, who likes to do voodoo. Cisely Tyson also was amazing at internalizing the character or person she was playing, so it was very believable - just as Tituba was at saying she was a witch, even though Tituba was just an ordinary slave, who just never had any power or authority.

Abigail Williams: Dakota Fanning

For the part of Abigail Williams I chose Dakota Fanning. I chose Datoka Fanning because Abigail Williams is described as being a very pretty girl, and Dakota fits that description very well. Abigail also is one who tends to pretend to be naive, when she is really smart, and knows what she's doing.  In many movies I have seen with Dakota Fanning she has done quite a good job of that.  She pretends to be naive and innocent, when she is really smart and knows exactly what she is doing.

Thomas Putnam: Brad Pitt

For the part of Thomas Putnam I chose Brad Pitt. I chose him because I feel that he is often quite good at being the 'bad guy' in movies, and yet still able to capture the audience and make them see his side, just like Thomas Putnam. Thomas Putnam is known for trying to take more land than is rightfully his, and still isn't really disliked.  People tend to like him, even though he isn't the typical "good guy".

Goody Ann Putnam: Angelina Jolie

For the part of Goody Ann Putnam I chose Angelina Jolie. I chose her because Goody Ann Putnam is described as being a woman who had lost 7 children just after birth, and was completely devastated. Angelina Jolie has manychildren of her own, and also has motherly instincts like Goody Ann.

John Proctor: Tim McGraw

For the part of John Proctor I chose Tim McGraw. I chose him because John Procter is a farmer, and Tim McGraw has played a farmer in many of the movies I have seen him in. John Procter is also described as charming, and confident, qualities that I have also seen in Tim McGraw's movie characters.

Mary Warren: Emma Watson

For the part of Mary Warren I chose Emma Watson. Mary Warren is a sweet girl who works for the proctors as Abigail's replacement. Emma Watson is also very sweet and caring in many of the movies I have seen her in, such as Harry Potter. Mary Warren is also hard-working, just like Emma Watson.

Goody Rebecca Nurse: Oprah Winfrey

For the part of Goody Rebecca Nurse I chose Oprah Winfrey. I chose Oprah because like Goody Rebecca Nurse, she is widely known for her charity and kindness. She has made many charitable donations all over the world.  Rebecca Nurse was kind and charitable in the story 'The Crucible'.

Goody Elizabeth Proctor: Charlize Theron

For the part of Goody Elizabeth Proctor I chose Charlize Theron. I chose Charlize Theron because she is older, but still pretty. Goody Elizabeth is described as being just that. Goody Elizabeth Proctor is also responsible for kicking Abigail Williams out of her home. Goody Elizabeth 'fights' for her man, and Charlize Theron would have no problem doing just that.

Reverend John Hale: Arnold Schwarzenegger

For the part of Reverend John Hale I chose Arnold Schwarzenegger. I chose him for the part because in the story 'The Crucible' Reverend John Hale is very well respected, and very authoritative. I think Aronld Schwarzenegger fits that perfectly. I have seen many movies with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and he is hard-working and does a good job at what he does, just like Reverend John Hale.

A Person’s Actions Do Not Always Reflect What Type of a Person He/She Is.

A person’s actions do not always reflect what type of a person he/she is.  There are reasons why people act how they act or do what they do.  Although we often judge a person by their outside actions, this is not always accurate or fair.  Just because a person acts a certain way, that doesn’t necessarily mean that is the type of person they are on the inside.  The type of environment a person is raised in will shape their views and reactions to situations.  A person who is simply having a bad day can let that affect their actions.  And often, person’s actions are a result of being acted upon by another person.

People do not always see things in the same way.  They grow up in different surroundings and are taught and become accustomed to different things. For example, a farming family would react differently to milking a cow than someone who has never owned or even lived on a farm. One who was a farmer would simply go milk the cow, but the person who had never even lived on a farm wouldn’t know what to do so it would be much harder for him/her to do that.   Some cultures teach that burping after a good meal is complimentary to the person who cooked the meal.  In other cultures, burping is found to be offensive.  To judge someone simply on their actions, without knowing the environment/culture in which they were raised would be unfair.  People grow up in different environments, they are raised differently, and are all taught many different things. What is rude or obnoxious to one may not be for the other.
People can sometimes just be having a bad day. People who are having a bad day often are angry or sad, even if most of the time they are actually a generally happy person. They respond to situations differently based purely on emotions.  Imagine a person who has woken up late and then hurried through the morning to try and get to school on time.  Once in the car and driving, another driver pulls out in front of them and cuts them off.  With emotions already frantic, the person who has been cut off may be angry, honk the horn, or yell at the other driver; something they would normally never do.  But due to the fact that they are running late, they react much more severely.
Often times, actions are determined because of being acted upon by someone else.  For example, say a person was abused as a child, they would most likely view situations differently than other kids.  Instead of reacting in normal way to someone who stuck out their hand for a high five, the person may be worried they are going to hurt them, and just run away. To the person holding out their hand for a high five, it would seem odd for a person to just run away.  To the person running away, this would be a completely rational way to act.  On the flip side, a person who has been shown love regardless of their actions, would be more likely to accept and love others.
A person’s actions do not always reflect who a person really is.  A person’s actions are simply the result of the way they were raised, how they were treated, and their current emotional state.  Therefore, a person’s actions do not determine what type of a person he/she is.  Judging others based solely on their actions is unfair, and often leads to false assumptions about a person.  Before deciding that someone is a good or bad person, you should get to know them and then make decisions based on who they really are inside.

About me (:

My name is Morgan.  I enjoy running track and cross country.  I also like to draw and doodle.  I love to go snowboarding and snowmobiling with my family and friends.  My favorite thing to eat would be a lemon lime or mango tango snowcone which I have almost daily in the summer.
